Default O2 sensor location

Hi All
Just purchased a racepak single channel A/F monitor. Racepak recommends 12" out in the header. Would like opinions on which cylinder they would monitor and why.
Thanks
Mike

I would think that you need to put it in the collector.if your in just 1 pipe you are not going to get an average reading.it's bad enough that your do not have 2 o2s.do not limit yourself to only reading 1 cylinder

X2, 1/2 way back in the collector.

but i agree you're not going to get an accurate reading from only 1 side of the engine, unless it's an injected engine and even then i have my doubts. Single plane maniflod, carberated, impossible.
