Default NHRA RULES reguarding batteries and Optima batteries or dry

I was told that if you use a Optima battery that you do not need to have a battery box. if the battery is located in the trunk. Street cat runs in the 10's What do you guy think ???? Is that true

Most sanctioning racing bodies are allowing 'gel' cell batteries to be used without encasing them. Just make sure you have a very durable mounting system. NHRA does require them out of the 'passenger' area.
