not at all! In fact, it's much more intense than 1/4 mile IMO. I've only done it once, but figured out fast that you better have it together because you don't have time to play games at the stripe......

I do not think its for wussys, especially if it was all you had. I have made quite a few 1/8 mile shake down runs, But I think I would not mess with it personally if my local track was only an 1/8. I like the adrenaline rush to last a little longer. I prefer test and tune days because I suck at tweeking and just want to drive as fast as I can.

Wussys  ,

Now that is just too funny  Since most of the 1/8 mile tracks are down here in the south. If you can't get it done in the 1/8 you can't get it done in a qtr. If you think 1/8 mile racing is for wussys, you need to take a vacation down south some time and see some of the Promod cars running down here, heck they run faster in the 1/8 than you do in the qtr. running around 200 MPH in the 3.80's. I'd hardly call them wussys.

Up until this past year all of my racing (about 25 years) had been done on the 1/8. I had made only a couple 1/4 mile time runs. None of the local tracks ran any 1/4 mile bracket programs. Last year I ran most of the UMTR South races which are almost all 1/4 and I will say I like the 1/4 mile racing better. You do have a lot more time to race the stripe. Is 1/8 for wussys....I don't think so.
We sold our jr dragster a few months ago and the guy that bought said his closest track runs 300'. When he started talking about catching cars on the "big end" I laughed. He said the 300' stuff was pretty intense.

I wouldn't say 1/8 mi racing is for wussy’s. There are alot of bad ass cars in this country that run the ADRL circuit. I understand why they race 1/8mi, it’s safer for the pro mod cars, a lot easier on parts and you have more of a selection of tracks to race at.

From what I see, most of the cars/ class’ are so quick in the 1/8mi the race is just getting started, then it's over. It’s kind of like getting started having sex…..you get all excited and your feeling good and ….oooop’s I quit……no wonder the women get so mad…it’s over before they are done…lol.

Just my preference …...Some of us have cars that can not run 200 mph in the 1/8 but they can in the 1/4. I like the 60’ adrenaline rush and the big speed at the other end so my preference would be 1/4mi.

Wussy's :?:  All our track's here are 1/8th mile except Bristol Dragway, And we run 1/8th mile there also. If you need a 1/4 mile to get it done you better go back to drawing board :!: :!:
