Default Camshaft Advice

It's winter time and I am uprading my motor, and would like some of your thoughts on Camshaft choice. I had a 12.9 cr, Iron headed, 355 ci in my 2900lb Chevelle. Old camshaft was .645 / .680 lift, 260 / 272 @ .050 installed on a 102 IC. Best ET 10.23 Best MPH was 128. 7500 at finish line.

Car has 5.13's, 32" tire. 5400 stall, p.glide w/brake. Engine will use my old heads (309 intake cfm), 6"rods (from the 355), Victor Jr, 900 cfm carb. New motor will be 13 cr, 388 ci. I was thinking .645/.680 lift again, but something like 272 / 284 duration.

Thoughts?

More cam will want more stall with your 355. Is the 388 a 3.75 stroke? You could get away with about 275/285 if so. If you run race gas use more compression, at least 14 to 1.
