Would you go low comp. or high comp.? Thought about 10:1-11:1 but idk? Also what brand and type of piston would you prefer be used with nitrous? I'm trying to build it with the least amount of money possible but I atleast want a high to mid 7sec car in the 1/8th and when I say 1/8th I mean our cheap little dragstrips around here like 600ft.
Pump gas or race gas?Pump gas steel heads,10 to 1.aluminum heads maybe can get away with approx 11:1..
Race gas,as much compression as you can get..

Srp pistons are decent, just about any name brand forged piston will work decent as long as your not using 400 h.p fogger lol.

(8banger)I had a 94 stang(on my you tube) that went 10.90's on 100 shot and 6.60's/10.40s on 150 and it was a pump gas 308c.i. with hydraulic roller(ordered from Comp Cams, custom grind Tony bishoff of B.E.S)195 canfield heads, forged ROSS flat tops.stock crank and block..through the muffs. That nitrous is some neat stuff!..

383 10:1 dart pro 1's 215's big hydraulic Roller(for nitrous)(no adjustments) Super Victor intake,750 holley HP..and depending on weight/gearing,etc,with a 150 shot,might/should be in the 6's in the 1/8 .

http://www.competitionproducts.com/I...nfo/IC9914-30/ found them pistons would they be ok to use with a nitrous set up? Also when using nitrous what kind of crank should I use every one I find is 400 to over 1000 dollars and I haven't got any money like that LOL. Also I have thought about getting the crank and rods reconditioned in my engine and getting the ICON pistons except for a 355 app. and still be able to use NOS is that possible or would it come apart in seconds?

Any motor with a bad tune on nitrous can come apart.
(cheap with a small shot ) Personal choice would be a scat 9000 cast crank internal balance with a 6 inch rod.
I just built a 385 for a pulling truck with this crank,pro mod 4340 6 inch rods,and sealed power 13.1(240 dome) to 1 pistons.

Scat cast cranks(if balanced correctly will/should hold 500 plus and no more than 7k 7500 rpm.

Stock crank, reconditioned rods with arp bolts and balanced, forged pistons might get away with a 100 to 150 shot as long as the motor is not making more than 300 to 350 fly h.p..(and RPM keeped low below 6500)but its a gamble...feelin lucky?lol.

No I ain't feelin' lucky enough to throw away 320 dollar pistons LOL yea I guess I'll get a better crank and rods. LOL And Idk if the 300 to 350 hp would get my camaro anywhere near the mid 7's LOL I guess I'll take my time and gather the parts but until then I'm driving a stock 350 then when I get the parts I'll build LOL Thanks for the help. And when I start getting the parts stacked up I'll start posting some pictures of the build thanks.

No Problem.20 years racing and all I've ever really fuzzed with was small blocks. So I have a few combo's that seen the track.lol.
300 to 350 flywhell H.P plus a 100 shot of juice ,should easily get you that 7.50 .lol...
My stang dynoed (wheel H.P with an auto) 341 and went 11.90's 12.0's with a best 7.57 off the transbrake...@3050 with me in it.
Good luck with it keep us posted.

So in a 3rd gen. big heavy camaro what class would I possibly see with 450-500 to the crank if every thing went well, good track condition and no spin? I know it'd be hard to predict just a guestament?

Actually have a good friend who has a gen 3 thats streetable but he does drive it with a 383 canfield 200's port matched.(small, its actaully a hydraulic roller with solid lifters(long story))roller, flat top motor 4.10 gears 28 inch slicks turbo 400 with a brake and an 10 inch 4k verter. It runs 11.0's-teens through the muffs.Has run a best of 10.95 in great air.

My vids, look for the malibu with the 355.It made 495 fly on the dyno and was only 11:1 motor.. with a stock crank ,rods..junk... and weighed 2880 with my in it..10.60's 6.7's...

Yours,heavy chevy 500 fly.good gears,slicks ....7.50's should be possible.

You'll be 3-4 tenths faster on a 600 foot track as compared to a full 1/8

low 7's should be a breeze with even a mild 350

now there pretty fast but they got a bunch of diff. cars they run and they'll find a car thats in my class. IDK whats up with them but they seem to race at tracks w/o et lights. I guess they want to hide it IDK.
