Which Head for a Blown 572 BBC
I have decided top go to alloy heads instead of the planned C/I dart heads.
I need to choose between AFR 345 cc heads, Trickflow 340cc or 360 cc heads or the brodix 340cc or 365cc heads.
All brands are very close in price.
The combo is 572 ci, 8-71 @ 7-8 psi, roller cam, 8-1 comp, running on 98 pump fuel.
The engine is going into a 3400 lbs street car to start with, but later when we finally have a local track again I want to put it in my full chassis car, increase the boost & run on methanol.
I know these heads are all probaly too big for the street but I will put up with that so I dont need to buy another set when it goes into the race car.
Which heads do people think will work better.
Thanx
Josh

Heads
I have an old set of Dart 360s on my NA 572, but I was told they were very good blower heads, the strong decks, etc. I heard they were no longer available. Some one will come in here with some thing more updated Im sure. Let Us know how it works out, I may blow mine, in a GOOD way. 8)

I would pm Curtis Boggs, or call him, and tell him exactly what you have and what you want to spend and get his opinion....or better yet have him get/do the heads for you ... He won't steer you wrong.

No matter go with a Brodix, top notch heads for sure. I am not a blower guy or I would have posted long ago. That size CI needs a bigger head so the bigger brodix would be my choice.
Topcat is correct the Dart 360 is what they call a good blower head.

Hi gang,
yes the Dart 360 in their "race series" castings is the one I've used
for years for both blower and NOS applications, .. VERY strong
casting. I've aslo been using the Big M 410cc version for some 572
alky blower combo's a customer builds and they work well.
One of my larger blown engine building customers is switching
over to the RFD 24* cnc head I build on custom Edelbrock pro port castings, .
also a VERY strong casting.
If you're looking for something un-ported, as cast style ports, . I'd get the Dart
360, then you can port them later, .. if you want CnC ported, I do versions
of the dart 360 and the RFD 24*
Hope this helps, ..

360s
This may be of interest to both of us. Mine is just a bracket digger with the SM porting flowing 377 according to Dart. What programs do You have for them. Also does Darts port work mess up Your program. Dont seem to be much interest in them now, but also have a bunch of money in the shaft rockers to switch. Thanks,TC
