I'd say in the neighbor hood of 750 hp. You didn't mentioned what input shaft your running though? You'll definetly need to upgrade to a hardened turbo spline input shaft if your considering throwing any kind of real power to it if you havent already. JMO

A lot depends on the weight of car. The stock 1.76 is a pretty strong piece.

I have seen 1,000 hp run on these 1.76 set ups with no immediate problems in a 2600/2700 lb car...

Not saying i endorse this or not......my tranny guy says 800hp no problems with a 3,000 lb ball park range..

i now run 180 straight cuts but have a spare 1.76 in the shop..

i agree with the input shaft statement..spend $300 and get you one of those trans specialties ringless HI-FLOW input shaft..the one rated up to 1500 hp..

if ya want to stick with a hardened stock type turbo shaft...give me a pm i have one of those to...notice its in extra parts box...

The input shaft is a hughes 4340 hardened type with powerglide spline. The car is a 1250kg backhalved 9 inch 4.11 ratio.Ive heard alot of differant horswpower and weight combos but i just want to get a final figure on it.

I have factory 1.76 planets in mine with a COAN input shaft, brake and servo .I have it in a 3050 lb car with a 540 bbc. Don't know the HP it makes but it runs low 6's in the eighth (hopefully will bust the 5's this year with new heads and camshaft.) Works ok so far.

it all sounds good to me but the powerglide spline in-put shaft...i know you need to run what you have..but if you have to purchase another shaft..go turbo spline..its thicker/stronger..thats why most people run them instead of glide splines...

but by all means run it..if it breaks then you know what to do..

good luck Mate...
