Here is the list I ran (#'s escape me exactly but can be close)

355- Basically close motor to what you have same heads fully cnc'd through AFR. Tried the pro products first and thought I was leaving some #'s on the table so I swapped to a Ported Super Victor 4500 with the adapter lost over a tenth, decided maybe the 4500 with the adapter wasnt the way to go, tried a 4150 base still was down .05 compared to the pro products out of box, decided to port match the Pro Products intake, gained another 5 with it. Ended up being .10 faster then both super victors. I tried changing the carbs around gained nothing.

The 434, had AFR 227's fully cnc'd by AFR. Started out with the pro products intake I had, ran good but wasnt happy with it. Swapped it over to the 4150 super victor slowed down .12 did gain back 3-4 with some jet change but not much really thought that intake would work on the bigger CI but did some calling around and was told by several people to try a Dart Wilson intake out of box, I purchased one put it on there after the super victor no changes .18 faster. More jet change ended up just over 2 tenths faster.

I left it on there after that. Always wanted to go to the dyno to see what hp/tq difference was but never did. The motor loved that Dart Wilson though.

I have the Dart Wilson on my 408 and its very happy with it. Its almost 14.7:1 with a .748/.668 roller. Had an 1150 on it and picked up with a 950. Right now I have a 750 on it and the timing dialed back to 33 degrees timing and went 10.10 @ 133 on the footbrake. In my truck at 2850 pounds. I had to tame it down, because my truck wont certify. with the timing at 38 and the 950 on it I ran 9.68 @ 137 footbraking, then they threw me out...lol...

A "mirror" finish on an intake port is not good. Unless it would be an intake for fuel injection where the fuel enters the engine at the cylinder head. An extremely smooth finish is OK if you are "flowing" air only. But when you are flowing air & fuel you want a finish that is not so smooth & will help keep the fuel atomized. JMO

Thats what I was told after I had put it on and the man told me that gas need more time to atomize than methanol but I don't know that much about all that. so I just bought me a new Dart and a used Holly strip Dominator Yesterday Iwas gonna put the Holley on first and try that but the guy I bought it from had it ported already and I don't know what heads he ported it to but it ain't even close to the Dart 230 heads. I can't get a hold of him yet so let me explain this and see if anyone can help.
When I put the 1206 Felpro gasket on the intake and line up the bolt holes the the gasket covers up 3/8 of the port hole at the top if I move the gasket to match the ports the bolt holes are off about 1/2 of the hole. any sugestions. I ported and installed the Dart but I would like to figure out the Holley
Thanks- Andy

Well I put the new Dart intake and the new HP 950 and it took me down to 6.20 in the 1/8 from 6.33 with the Dominater. so the Dom was to big.
Thanks for all the replys. Andy
