You have a problem somewhere, either converter is broke (my guess is sprag) or the dyno you used is about 200hp off.
@ 3300lb a 1000hp motor should run at worst 6.0's if all else is correct.
A good friend of mine has a 1025hp motor in his 3200lb 55 chevy it runs 5.8's all day.
Tell us more about your setup maybe we can figure something else out.

You didn't say what gear you're running, but the 60' times are way off, don't know if you're spinning or the converter is bad, but MPH doesn't look bad for the 6.60 et.
I can only go as an example. We have a 3700lb Biscyne, with M/T street slicks, and a pump gas 468" motor. The last time out in street trim, minus mufflers, it went 6.87 @ 99mph and 10.88 @ 120mph. Best 60' was 1.447 worse was 1.513. Thats with 4.56 gears and turbo 400 leaving at 4200 on the trans brake with a 5500 converter. I don't believe the motor has much more than 600HP, the cam is only .668/.674 lift and the comp. is 9.7.
I'm thinking also that you have converter problem unless it's struggling off the line.

Ok I dug up my paper work on the engine and is as follows
Steve Schmidt 565 it is what they call their sniper 567
Profiler heads, Dart block , 14.8 comp, Comp roller .822 I-.799 E
Added vac pump .
According to their dyno it made 1011.0 hp at 7300 and 797.3 torq at 5900
Truck has ladder bar suspension with coil overs, Moser Fab 9 rear with 4.30 Pro gears.
Track is far from great but it didnt seem too bad, truck went straight as an arrow and I dont know if it makes any diff but I was late on the light most of the time.

Converter must be out in left field or you have timing wayyy off or other issues here. I am leaning towards converter your 60ft is terrible slow.
Dont think we are ripping on your ride, just you have one heck of a motor that should be a lot faster. With some help you'll be a lot happier with it. My first guess would be to call Neil & Chance, or go out and stall it to see what it actually stalls. I still think it has a broken sprag. Wish I had a converter that would work for you it'd be on its way to try.
what timing are you running, have you pulled all the plugs to make sure they look good ?

First of all i wanted to say what David said, we're not in any way bashing your truck. You do have everything to go much faster. i would make sure the timing is set 34/36 degrees. I still think it's a converter issue. I too think the truck should run 5.50/5.80. The ladder bars are not your problem and the 4.30 gear is about right for the HP. The pics i've posted below are of a 1951 ford truck with the original frame and ladder bars, it's all steel except hood with the original glass. It does have a strut front end. It has a 572" on gas no nitrous and a PG with 4.30 gears. It weighs 3,000lbs plus, he's a good friend of mine so i'm familar with the truck. The last time out at Twin Cities La. (local track) he ran 5.39@127 carrying the wheels 200 ft.
By the way i love that track you were at , it's the kind of track i grew up running many yrs. ago, kinda country and narrow. If you go back this weekend try the trans brake if you get it fixed, try somewhere between 3600/4200 with it. That may show you a lot about the converter.

Ok I took Trans out and dropped it at the Glide doctor, He said there is nothing that He could see straight out broke or damaged. He told me to check my shifter adjustment as it sounds to him like its over throwing high gear.
My shifter is an older one i had and i only used it because it has a net. safety switch in it.
You guys think this might be an issue?
Thanks KW
Also knock my ride all you want, I know you guys wanna help and sometimes you gotta really dig to find the fix..
