Holley Black/Location??
Installing new fuel system. Having gravity & space are a concern. Have a sumped tank. Mufflers are near mounting area of where the pump should be to have gravity & space @ same time. Will heat be an issue??? I read in another thread that it could shut down the pump if it gets hot. I am replacing a high volume manual Holley pump.

OK. I went to the fab shop @ my work & grabbed some 1/8" steel plate to make a shield with.... I figured it would deflect heat better than aluminum. I see many reasons why people use fuel cells... with my sumped tank, I am limited for space & gravity. Thanks!

I wondered that.... I think I had it backwards (steel VS aluminum). The closest heat source is the turn down from the muffler (the pump is slightly to the side & above it by 3 to 4". thanks Bretheren.

My chevelle has a sumped tank, I mounted my pump to the rear of the tank to the right of the car and the filter is between the pump and the tank.I made a large swoop with the hose to keep the bend "not so sharp". The pump is a bit higher up than the sump outlet but when the car launches it squats...never had an issue but it was just a small block flat tappet cam nothing special.
