Default Trans swap ... Help

Ok Guys, Im looking at buying a street 1969 camaro. It has a powerglide with BBC in it now. I would like to know what all is involved to convert it over to a 5 speed or 6 speed manual. Any cost estimates would be helpful too. I am not sold on any one type of trans. Engine will make about 650hp. It wont be a daily driver but driven often. Suggestions, and whats involved would be great. Thanks.

First, you have to pick your transmission, keeping in mind that BBC will make some torque.
With a Richmond or Tremec TKO you can use standard Chevy scattershield and mechanical linkage.
If you a B/W T-56 from a 93 to 97 Camaro/Firebird, you can get an adapter scattershiled and use the "pull style linkage".
If you get one from a 98 to 01 Camaro/Firebird, it uses a different adapter bellhousing.

Good luck!!
