Ya i could see 6.50's out of that .
My old nova with a 383 and a glide ran 6.70 in the 1/8 mile .
not a pump gas engine but still a little 383 iron heads and a victor Jr and a 630 shaft in it with a 750 on it.
i think it will run mid 6's with no problem.
he does have a set of short runner heads and not a bad combo ya it will.

Years ago, I ran a .030 over 454 with a cast crank in my 2700lb Monte Carlo with the cast iron heads. It had the 11:1 TRW closed chamber pistons and the 840 rectangular port heads, but by the time I had smoothed the domes and unshrouded the valves the compression was actually only 10.5:1. I did run the race fuel and never tried pump gas, but looks like I could have. I ran a Crane solid roller with .708"/.708" lift and the duration was about 262/272 on a 106 c/l. I did run a Weiand tunnel ram with 2-750dp and it ran a best of 9.53 @ 143, which was about 6.10 @ 115 in the 1/8th. I shifted it at 7000 and ran it for 2 seasons without problems, until the camshaft dowel pin broke and fell into the Cloyes double roller. Ouch!
I agree that your camshaft is too big for your combination and a smaller one would probably make it run stronger. Also, your 950 carburetor is too small (they actually only flow about 790cfm, because it is a 750 throttle body on a 850 baseplate) and I would change it to at least a 850 and a 1000cfm would be better.
I also think that you will be in the mid 6's, when you get the bugs worked out.

My setup was 496 11:1 comp Canfield 315s with mild porting Solid roller 652/652 308 duration 3365 pounds with my fat butt 4.88s 28" tires and a 3800 stall with a TH400. Ran 6.90 at 99 mph in the 1/8 with a pityful 1.70 60 foot.Don't know if sorry short times were from low compression or too low of a stall( I think stall is too low). But pulled one front tire up about 8" and would carry it about 20 feet out.Car had more but never got to test much before season ended.Never cured traction problems 100 %.I would guess mid 6s

Bill Mitchell as in "Bill Mitchell Racing Engines"?
