Default Milodon oil reserve pressure tank

I have one of these and never used it. I bought it to make sure my engine never starts dry.
I have heard though , you can run less oil in the engine due to the reserve in the tank, kind of a lesser dry sump type system.
is this true? If the engine requires 7 qts and you have a 3 qt tank can you just put in the 7 or do you go 7 + the three? and what happenes when it pressurizes the system, does it overflow?
Last question , how much pressure to put in the bladder?
Thanks

7 + 3 UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO RUN LESS.

It dumps the oil into the sytem but once oil psi picks back up it goes back into the accumulator. Can't remember the air psi but there are instructions online.
