Help... 1972 Chevelle 350 (W/TH350) oil pan removeal (In car)
I'm trying to remove the oil pan to replace a leaking rear main seal, having trouble.
I set the crank keyway to the 6 o'clock position, removed the motor mount thru bolts, starter & exhaust manifolds and loosened the 2 transmission mount bolts, then I jacked the motor up (On Harmonic balancer)until the trans hit the firewall, still can't get the pan out! I've done rear main seal jobs before on various GM's (And others) but not this year and model, anyone have an idea before I have to yank the engine?

I have had to reach into the rear of the pan and unbolt and drop the oil pump
and pick-up to get the pan to come out. Usually the oil pump and pick-up is
what prevents the pan from sliding out.
