Trans shifts slow

Trans shifts slow
After letting my car sit for a year now it shifts slow from 1-2 and 2-3. Doesn't slip just doesn't shift when the shifter does. Thinking it might be in the valve body. It pulls hard when it does shift just have to back off it a little as it hits the chip otherwise.

No offense buy sometimes the basics are missed,...ATF at correct mark on the stick ? Low level or clogged filter can make shifts a tad slow. You say it was parked for a year, if there was a bunch of material floating around in the fluid, it could have all settled whilst sitting and clogged the filter.

Changed fluid and filter not sure if that helped or not. Haven't been back to the track. I should've added that I installed a new shifter. Possibly not adjust right. What gear do you guys put the trans in when adjusting the shifter?

Well I think I may have found the problem. When I changed shifters I didn't get the linkage arm for the trans and used the one I had from the old shifter. Found out last night that is a no no. So I picked up the correct one today and going to try for better results tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Well problem still exists. Had the trans checked out, all is good there. Now I'm back to suspecting it's the shifter. It's a Turbo Action with air shift setup. CO2 is full, regulator is set at 90psi. :?

Well got it shifting right now I think. But now I think converter is the problem. Sixty foot times are getting slower, won't rev past 7100 and trans is getting up to 200* after one pass. Does this sound like a stator problem?
