I think that's high also and i also think there's a couple things that you could do to improve. First the single plane manifold is really bad on bottom end, and 2nd the carb is too big for the cam and heads that you have especially for the street.

i agree with zip, hp sounds on the high side, duel plane and 650 max cfm carb may work better with your combo.

With the duel plane and the smaller carb you are almost building a 350/ 350hp engine

My thoughts would be cut the heads bout .030 and use the .017 head gasket for more comp. air gap intake and 650 carb or if it is footbrake car mabe a 750 vac. also if you could get Vortec heads that alone is worth 20 or so horses My Opinion. Later J. Smith 4621 racing

If your having to make your headers go big, the 1 5/8's X 3 will be fine. You''ll more than likley end up going bigger with the motor anyways since your racing it so why not have the bigger better headers already. Just makes sence.
Anytime you reduce combustin chamber volume and squish you will see a increase in torque and horsepower, now how much is debatable.
It really depends on the cam - high lift / long duration cams love compression, just make sure you check piston to valve clearance afterwards.
