Default Another Scammer [email protected] 917-737-1271

I recently got a reply to one of my for sale ads from this guys.
New it was a scam right away but played along to see what he was trying to do.

I first got a reply to my add as a text message from the number above. Thought it was strange that he asked me to email him at his gmail address because he wouldnt receive my message through text.

I emailed him, and without asking any questions about my race car/parts for sale, he immediately said he wanted it and would pay via paypal. He even mentioned to me that paypal is a secure/safe way to pay (Red flag number 2)

I definitely knew it was a scam at this point but continued on. After I agreed to take payment through paypal, he gave me the story of how his shipper (in the UK) would only take payment by Western Union so he would pay me $2000 extra so I could wire the money over. So I guess the Scam is the same as those "Im a government official from country XYZ and will send you a check, please wire money back to me" scams.

Anyway, if anyone gets a response to any of their ads from this guy, best to ignore/alert people.

Hopefully nobody fell for this guys scam.

Thanks for the heads up, he started to use the same procedure on me, texted wanting more pics e-mailed to his gmail address.
Luckily I did a reverse lookup since I didn't recognize the area code then saw your posts when I searched.
