I would think twice about the stock internal parts. If the money is there, I would even think about an aftermarket block too.

If you really want to run all of the OEM parts then go with a single turbo and keep the boost light.

If i change to the rods below would that be better for the bottom end they are forged? Should i also change the crank? its goin to be a low compression engine.

What about this Crank?

Cast cranks will kaboom with more than about 7 PSI of boost.

The rods you picked out are bottom of the barrel. You may as well be running bone stock rods. LT1 'pink' rods may even be a step up.

For the mild application you're wanting, buy Eagle brand.

You can find decent brand new Eagle rods right here on RJ for about 300.00.

Crank must be forged for it to live.

Save your pennies and do it right, or do it cheap and do it twice!

IMO Them rods are worse then the other Summit Rods, the others are atleast 4340 these are 5140. A discussion on a budget minded rod has been talked about on another site, sounded like the first Summit Rods you have arent that bad of a rod. Several of the guys used them, one had them in his 555 bbc that made 940hp on the dyno. I like eagle stuff, but any rod I buy I upgrade the rod bolts. I would not buy a cast crank, like mentioned above your asking for trouble.

The lower end has nothing to do with how much power you're going to make. The top end of the motor determines that.

The lower end quality determines whether you make it down the track without needing a tow back. It does no good to make 1000 HP if it only stays together for 2 seconds after you whack the throttle.

For your budget application, stick with Eagle or Manley.

For the turbo, there's tons of people out there who specialize in them. Dan Saitz has a great reputation in St. Louis. http://www.hyperformanceracing.com/
