Default tested today at Shadyside

woke up feeling good, the weather was great, the car had been combed over and ready to go...

i stepped up to the track and get a little more aggresive with the timing and Gear retard.. the car was very powerful at this set up. from the Hit it had a planted 1.11 60 ft (1st time out) by the time we starting ramping time back in, the rear wheels broke loose..stayed into it as long as i could before having to lift if you watch in vid i blow them out at the same spot each time
next pass went back with same agressive set up with a 28/32 tune up.....same thing...Good 60ft 1.12 then in the same spot on the track as power started ramping back in end the tires hazed again.

i wanted my last pass to get down the track but obviously the track 100ft out wasn't working with me....SO WE KILLED THE timing... 13 degrees out on the hit and ramped 5 back in instead of 7 from (3900rpm to 6,000rpm)....So yes we knocked it to its knees to try and get it down the track,,,,,,,,,, went a 1.21 60 ft from a 1.11 60 ft...ran a 5.24 from a 4.74.....here is the Vid of my pass i had power killed...also NOS RAN OUT.... But i made it go down.

Bottom line i had some fun, it was 80 degrees and just loved the day even thou my car was 1/2 second off.. not much you can do with a bad track besides trying to kill power to get down her.......ooooohh wellll ENJOY !

here the last Vid where timing was taken out TO GET DOWN TRACK and ran out of Nos about 300 ft mark... 5.24@133 10.5's 3060lbs
taking out 1 extra degree on the Hit and only ramping back in 5 instead of 7 on the gear retard...resulted in a 12160ft from a 1.11 ft...and a 5.24et from a 4.74 et ???

I like that kind of fun , Hey Brian , is it breaking loose before or after the shift?? on my buddies promod he has to drop the timing back at the same time it shifts and ramp it back in gradually , or it will break loose on the shift everytime..just wondering ,,,,,,,,Paul

yes paul we use the same type of system by taking timing out and ramping it back in...in my case i take 12 off the top on the hit for the amount of NOS i use...from we have it set from 390O it drops another 7 and we ramp it all back in by 6,000 (before shifting) ..by doing this with the gear retard it helps keep you planted....going next week and set my eyes on a 4.70 ft.......1 small hit

so to answer your question its spinnig the tires when the power is coming back at the top of the timing ramp right before my shift point.track just could not hold it today....

thanks

BJ,
I guess the only question on the table is what does a 4.70 driver with a 10.5 tire car wear, jockies, briefs or "DEPENDS" :? :P
