IT IS A TERRIBLE THING THAT HAPPENED TO THIS FAMILY

IT IS A VERY, VERY STUPID THING TO BIULD A CONCRETE BARRIER WALL AT THE END OF A DRAG STRIP[ NO MATTER THE LENGTH!!!]

NHRA IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT STUPIDITY[IT IS THERE SANCTIONED TRACK AND THE SAFETY ISSUES THAT THEY PUT IN PLACE]

AS A DRIVER YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILTY TO CHECK OUT THE TRACK AND AREA YOU ARE GOING TO RUN ON AND HAVE TO STOP ON---YOU CAN REFUSE TO RUN AND FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE TRACK AND NHRA!![ I WAS THE SAFETY MAN ON A NICE STOCK CAR TRACK THAT HAD LOUSY GUARDRAILS- UNTIL WE GOT TOGETHER AND HELPED THE OWNER CHANGE THEM AND MADE IT ALOT SAFER]

DRAG RACING AT ANY SPEED CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS[LET ALONE AT 300 MILES AN HOUR

NOT BEING MEAN OR ANYTHING[ NOBODY SHOULD DIE THAT WAY-PERIOD] AS FAR AS ESPN SHOWING THAT WRECK--IT IS THE MONEY THAT COMES FROM THE HEADLINES ops: ops:

I saw earlier they removed the barrier at the end.Just side barriers now. It's going to get to the point where shorter tracks are going to have to add more shutdown or no national event for that track.I personally don't think the races will go to 1000ft mark for T/F.I think NHRA will say (hey here is our new giudelines for shut down. You have this amount of time to update your facility.)
Very sad day none the less.R.I.P Scotty.

Scott will be missed,RIP. My heart goes out to his family and friends. This is very sad. I pray that God will be with them and comfort them.

NHRA should address what has happened and have longer shut downs, period. At over 300mph your car has to work 100% to be able to stop. There shouldn't be issues of death if you can't stop. I know I know, this is a dangerous sport with these high speeds and anything can happen but we should take every safety measure we can.

In drag boat racing the drivers sit in a self contained brake away pod. I was wondering if this would fit our sport?
