There is a benefit race for Lynn Nickerson (P.A. announcer for various Div. 4 NHRA/IHRA events & tracks). Lynn has been battling cancer on and off for several years. He has made his living doing freelance announcing and thus does not have any health insurance to aid with his treatment expenses. So...

There will be a benefit weekend of bracket racing (benefiting Lynn) at North Star Dragway in Denton, taking place November 10th & 11th. It is not real easy to find the information about this race on North Star's website simply because there is no link to this events info from their standard calendar. There is a small link on the main page but the calender shows nothing on this weekend...

Several things to note about this race...
1. It has a nice payout. $1500.00 to win in each class.
2. $75.00 entry fee. A second entry for your car is $25.00 off.
3. There are no "buy-backs" so you might as well buy two entries.
4. Robert Hutchinson, the former owner of TX Raceway, appears to be the promoter behind this benefit/race. Hutch knows how to put on a bracket race & a show! ! !
5. Larry Croft is the track manager at North Star. Larry is the King of all Track Managers is my mind. When you race at a Larry Croft ran event, the only thing to do is race. There is no down time, musical interludes, lunch break for the crew, etc. It's a steady stream of cars heading down the track with NO screwing around. We're there to race & Larry will make it happen.
