IS THERE ANY ELECTRICIANS OR HVAC GUYS ON HERE
Need help wiring a motor for a garage fan.The switch was bad and i was going to wire it straight but can't find the wiring diagram or the brand of the motor.It is a 36" drum fan.Somebody already had taken the switch out of it.Thanks

Are you saying there was a single pole switch mounted on the motor to start/stop the fan? If so, you could wire nut those two together, but then you would still need a switch somewhere else, or on a dedicated circuit, and use the breaker, to turn it on and off.

68bbnova The switch is gone i think it was a two speed switch high and low.I am trying to just wire it straight on high only and i can't figure it out i did have it running in reverse though.Here is what i have of course three wires from the 110 plug- ground, white,black.To the motor there are 4 wires plus the ground-brown,blue,red,black.There is also a capacitor with red and black wires.The motor does not have a diagram on it.Thanks

When you had it running in reverse, did your hot wire from your cord get hooked to two wires, and your neutral to two wires also? If so, you should be able to swap two wires from the motor, to the other wire nut, to reverse the rotation. I hope that makes sence, if not, reply back. Sean

Typically on 115volt AC motor you swap the red and the black wire to reverse rotation.
These are the typical terminal color markings:
T1 - Blue
T2 - White
T3 - Orange
T4 - Yellow
T5 - Black
T8 - Red
These are low voltage connections 115volt AC for counter clockwise rotation to reverse rotation swap T5 and T8:
T1, T8, T3 tie together and connect to hot (black wire).
T4, T5, T2 tie together and connect to the remaining neutral (white wire)

i don't know if yours is the same as mine but on mine there are two light brown wires( or orange and white on some) coming out of the motor that hook up to the two terminals on the capacitor. make sure you have the correct size. the guy that i got mine from brought several sizes. if it is two small it will not start good or will shut off just after starting. mine also has a wiring diagram on the motor. there are four wires on the motor that control speed .black is high, blue is med high, yellow is med. lo, and red is low. hope this helps... matt
