Belt driven fuel pump system
Hello
This is the first belt drive methenol pump i have had. Im in a "new to me dragster" anyway..
When i stored the car for the winter i drained the alcohol put some racing gas in..started the car.. then shut it down..now im ready to re-commision it.
I drained the fuel from the pump and put in a little marvel mystery oil. I removed the bypass valve cleaned it and a little oil in there too.
Now i have to get it going again. Do i need to fill the bowls with fuel manually then start it up??
Thanks
Keith

belt drive fuel pump
Spray can of carb cleaner with the tube pointed toward the carb or injector. Just keep spraying once it fires until it will runs on its own.
Just be careful in case of a back fire, I use a driving glove for protection.

Stick it all back together without the belt on the mandrel side and take a drill and run the belt and pump. This will get the fuel back up to the carb
Also never use racing gas unless you have to, the carb cleaner will not backfire nearly as bad or cause a fire

Started the new motor up yesterday. Filled the bowls with alky, squirted a little alky down the carb and hit the ignition. The car fired right up. You just need to work the throttle a little until the pump catches up.
