Can't say I know him, TCI or Coan will work, Hughes, ATI, JW, Turbo Action, Neil Chance... I would look for a tight 10", 3500 to 4000 and use the larger if your springs will handle it. Tell the company you chose the combo you are putting together, and that you want it to lock well for street use.

Default Clearance Issues ?

I didn't see any thing on the cam specs but you are aware that with the
434's four inch stroke you have to run a small base circle cam shaft,
I believe it is a .900" base circle.

Also I'm not sure about the eagle rods but with the Compustar rods in my
434 the largest cam you can run is .660 lift and still have the minimum rod to cam clearance.

Mark is right on with the .630/.630 cam with 106 L/C, i have one and installed it @ 102 lot's of HP with that cam. In my 434" motor with Lanotti promod rods i have .734 lift with 1.6 rockers, but Bullit ground the base circle to .870 for clearance with the rods. A .660 lift will fit with eagle rods and .900 base circle, from personal experience.

Yes, forgot about the small base circle, my 427 has an .850 base for clearance. But any of the cam companies can put them on a smaller base, you just have to wait for it, usually not a shelf item.

so .660 lift is the max with a .900 base circle cam when using the h beam eagle 3d stroker rods? is this with or without grinding on the rod and bolt for clearance

CALL DART AND ASK THEM TO SPEC A CAM FOR YOUR MOTOR.THATS WHAT I DID WITH AFR AND THEY HAD COMP CAMS TO GRIND A CAM FOR MY MOTOR(4340 CRANK,6 INCH H-BEAM RODS,406 CID).
ITS ABOUT 300 DURATION AND 678 LIFT,WONT KNOW THE RESULTS UNTIL THIS SPRING WHEN THE TRACK OPENS.

what if you had a little bigger cam with a larger lobe sep like 108. Would that help it clear the 4inch rods. I was told it would help. my cam is .679/.645 and I am planning on a 434. it is a .900 base. Also its a 4/7 swap, would that make it harder or easier to clear a 434 rod. And I know you can send a cam back in to be re-ground. So would they change the specs all together, or would they be able to change the base circle to help make it clear, but leave the specs alone??

I have a little bigger spec cam than you are talking about, .689 in fact and will run 1.6 rockers on it, and i had Bullit grind me a 4/7 swap cam, but they ground it to .870 base to be sure the .900 will be close if not hit "H" beam rods. They can go as low as .850 base circle, there is another issue which comes up. You absolutely have to use vertical tie bar lifters with the small base circle cams. The horizonal tie bars will almost alway hit the lifter boss in the valley. In my 434" i have tall seat lifters that will not have this problem, also make sure you get the lifters that are made for small base circle cams. They have more clearance on the side struts where the roller is installed.

All just precautions

ok I have comp lifters vertical bars. all for the .900 setup. I guess It will just be a matter of checking clearance. I suppose I could just build a 421-427 and not nave the issue. I wonder how much e.t. I would loose with a few less cubes?

Don't know the difference between 421" and 434", but a friend of mine has a 394" in a 55 chev that weighs 2650lbs that can run 5.70 all day long on a toilet bowl with alcohol. I have that car on a vid and posted it a couple months ago in the induction forum.
