Did the same thing a few years back with an electric clothes dryer. Forgot to unplug it and was doing some maintanence when my ring touched a hot power lead (220V). Nothing like having to get your wedding band cutoff in the ER cause my finger had swelled up horribly from the jolt. Still have a burn mark on that finger to this day.

Friend of mine is a Georgia Power line man and they are not allowed to wear any type of jewlery.

My wedding ring comes off when I'm wrenchin'. Seen one too many stripped to the bone finger.

This is the main reason I have never had a wedding ring. When we went to pick out the wife's wedding ring she asked me if I was getting one and I told her no, I would never wear it. In fact I didn't get a class ring for the same reason. No point in paying for something you'll never use and with the kind of work I have always done it's just an added risk.

Same here. I have one but rarely wear it. Seems like I'm always wrenchin on something....
