If you plan on running 8000 rpms, don't skemp on the block. The block, crank, and rods are what decide how long your engine will last. Especially at 8000rpm. Get a Dart block and go to the next step.

Which GM 502 is it, a Bowtie ?

Like Parker mentioned a motor that spins that high will need very good parts to stay alive. Titanium valves would also be on that list.

I bought the Dart 355 CNC heads from Reher Morrison along with their CNC Edelbrock Super Victor with 1" spacer and reversion plate. They are good heads, but they don't flow much over 400 cfm. I don't think you will achieve the power your looking for with the 355s without doing a lot of work to them and you can get Edelbrock Victor heads from RFD that will be CNC'd for you motor and application that will suit you better if you are staying with a conventional style head. I know "obsessedtruck's" motor and his Big Dukes are awesome from RFD. Are you planning on putting titanium valves on the intake side?

Oval ports are the way to go now you'd make the power you wanted with them heads for sure, and can put good valve in them.

Default brodix ovals

just how good are the new brodix oval port -3 extra heads compared to the conventional rect port heads of the same port volumn. Anyone have any experience with them?
