Powerglide lazy shift
I see another post where someone has a car that hits the rev limiter between shifts. I understand his problem, I have seen the same thing> My powerglide revvs up at the shift enough to actually unload the chassis on a run. I have replace the trans with my spare trans and it works great now. Anybody ever cracked this nut??? Only one guy answered the question saying that it might have a warped valve body. Could the front pump be getting weak?? The fluid isnt burned and the band and clutches look fine. So I am thinking it is a pressure problem. I just need some direction! Thanks

I've had a hipster do the samething before, did you get a chance to check line pressure before taking it out ?

No I didnt but I will do the work, how do I check it? I know about the 1/8 inch pipe plug on the side of the servo cover. Do you just check it at a idle??

Pressure tap for low and high is the servo cover plug, a brake VB should have at least 200 psi. Check your band adjustment, 3 1/2 to 4 turns out will work.

It can be the pressure relief valve in the valvebody. I had this hsppen as well but with a BTE valvebody. Works fine after cleaning it out and stretching the spring just a little.
