I talked to my buddy tonight. I guess he found the flutter last week. There was apiece of crap in the bypass at the pump that was hanging the pump regulator open sometimes. Still going to jet up and try to get the egt's down. Can't hurt. Hoping to find an intake locally to borrow and try. I think I know where there is a 4500 TeamG I could get. Might know someone with a 454R as well.
Thanks Tom

Tom,
We had a 825 Demon on our sbc car before we put the injector on. When we had it on the dyno we could not get the a/f right at the upper rpm range. We were getting a lean condition. What we found was the needle and seats that came in the carb, although they measured .150, would not flow as good as a set of .150s we had in our old Holley that we tested against it. We changed needles from the Holley and HP went from 690 to 727. Not sure if it could be the same problem but we have dyno sheets that proved it for us with that being the only change.
I will say that once we tuned that Demon it was a great carburator. When we changed to a toilet every one was telling us we would pick up a few tenths. We didn't pick up anything at all. Not that this helps you any just saying I think Demons are pretty good carbs, like most things, when they are tuned right.

Three passes today with the 454R and no other changes. All mid 9.20's at around 149. I would say the intake was worth a solid tenth and about 3-4 MPH. No big jets to play with, but were pretty happy with the intake swap.
Thanks guys

More good results with the 454R i've yet to see one slow anything down. Most see 2-5 gain I seen almost 2 tenths over the team g with my setup. I am glad you seen a tenth and didnt have to spend a ton of money to do so.
