We simply purchased a new battery and charger. We sent out our alternators to Mark Payne and he converted them over to 16 volt. I believe the battery and charger thru Summit Pro Shop is about $450 and you are looking at about $75-$100 to convert an alternator.

Just bolt in the batt / alt and go.

I called PowerMaster tech today concerning an alternator with 16 volts and they assured me that I wouldnt need the step down or anything. The alt puts out 18.9 volts and wont hurt anything, you dont get into trouble unless your over 20 volts.

I ran the 16 volt last year with no alt and it worked good, but later in the rounds was missing the alt for sure. I just picked up a Powermaster 140 amp alt and should be good to go now...

Hope this novel is helpful...lol

You guys thinking of going to 16v check out this site

http://www.batteriesareus.com/index....x&cPath=65_146

12/16v lite weight deal for 190.00 looks like a great deal

Also make sure everything you have is good for upto 19v's before swapping... I'll be sticking with 12v again because of this. hmmm now what 12v to buy ?!?

Not that it may not work but the Relay Board I've asked he said 18.5 max .. I asked on YB and he said it'll be ok but searching I did on there no one runs a alt with it (my guess because they dont want to chance it)

For K&R? We were told directly that the 16v would not create any problems with any of the K&R electronics.
