Bob Sloan from Sloans Transmission
Anybody that lives in the central Illinois area and has ran at the Havana Dragstrip knows Bob and Jimmy Sloan from Sloans Racing Transmissions.
I just wanted to let all his fellow racing friends know that Bob passed away last Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
Bob was a great guy who's true calling was drag racing. Besides running a great trans shop, he built most of his fuel injection systems from scratch.
I have had many a good times at his shop, at Mugsy's Pub and at the track with him and his family.
He will be missed.
Here is a link to his obituary.

This past year we've lost 6-8 local racers to heart and cancer issues, not all of them were 'old guys' either. It can happen to any of us , any time. Mopar1968(Mark) knows that all too well.
