why not install the headlight pivots, about $150 each and put the covers on? that way it all does fit right and you can still flip the doors open if you want to run with the headlights on? I have had 1 68 RS that had all the setup except the vacuum crap and I just popped them open manually when need be. My current 67 is a true RS car but someone over time swapped out the doghouse to a standard front end, I am going to convert it back, all the goodies (grille, moldings, pivots, covers and outside trim) minus the electric motors and electronics is going to run me about $600 from D&R classics out of Chicago
