Default SOILID FLAT TAPPET STANDARD CAM OR 4-7 SWAP SOLID CAM

both being basically equal except price what are the advantages of either i know the harmonic difference in the swap cam but like everyone else i had a lobe go down on my standard cam so am buying new also has anyone used the new style solid lifter with the hole in the bottom instead of sides howards cam says it will pick up about 20 ft pound of tourqe with the swap cam over standard comp says not a noticable difference for the price thanks

There has been lots of discussion on SPEEDTALK about it. If you go there and do a search there is lots of info as to the "WHY"

Here is a HOT ROD article with a back to back test of a standard cam vs 4/7 swap.

The day's of regular solid lifters are over.

1.Buy the drilled lifter. When the lifter comes off the closing ramp and hits the "lash" portion, you get a shot of oil directly on the lobe.
or
2. Groove the lifter bore, top on drivers side, bottom on passingers side. This causes a direct shot of oil on the contact area between the lifter and lobe.
