Thanks Donn for posting,
This is my new ride. I traded with a guy from South Carolina this past Friday. Its should be a fun ride since all I have ever ran was Novas. It is a 74 tube chassis vega, 14 pt cage, 4link, 9" w/4:86 gears, MW axles, SS braided fuel lines. It weighed 2180 lbs with a steel headed big block. I am going to put my 406 (that I bought from the man "bjuice") and glide with a 5500 trans specialist convertor. The car has a removable fiberglass frontend which will make working on the engine real nice. Also has strut front end. I was told to take it easy the first couple of passes because I have never driven a strut car, and of course, the wheel base is a lot shorter. I can't wait to get it on the track but I am going to redo the wiring before I take it out. But I am looking forward to it. I will keep yall informed on what she does.

I know the Vega well..i also Know Kenny the seller very well also..he worked 5 blocks from my old house and shop and we would do buiness and he would visit the shop very often..
i have made passes beside this Vega in my wifes 69 camaro last year..
i believe Kenny had an almost stock 454 cast heads (oval port) pump gas and he would still run the lower 6 second range beacuse the car was so light..
i know you have a stout little 406ci...its making much more HP than that Big block keeny had in the vega plus you will shed a few hundred pounds off the nose..
so you should step up into the high 5 second range....be cautious take your time and feel the car and work you way into it...contrary to some beleifs there is a BIG difference in how you drive and react from a 6.90 car to a 5.90 car... everything happens so much quicker...
ps..change them valve springs this year....lol 8)
congrats and goods luck my old buddy.
