Default carb help

Can anybody tell me what would cause my car to die when I go thru the traps and let off the gas. It pulls fine all the way thru the 1/8 and as soon as I let off she dies. It is Dominator. It will start right back up. Thanks Mike

Give it another 100 or 200 idle speed and readjust the mixture. I usually turn the mixtures in equally till the speed starts to drop, back out until the idle is back up and go 1/8 turn richer.

Yea What he said. I adjusted my idle mixture to as close to perfect as I thought is was and then went to the track and made a couple of passes, and at the end of the track same thing it would want to die or would die all together. Turned them back out to 1 1/2 turns out each issue cured.

Make sure your primary and secondary butterflies are open the same amount if they are not you may be drawing raw fuel through the transfer slots causing the engine to die.

What sizes are your air bleeds, idle, intermediate, and high. Make sure the high side doesn't have trash in them blocking the circuit.

Give your idle screw's another turn out and raise the float a little higher.

Mike, sometimes we over analyze things. This sounds like a simple fix, you might try a 50 year old solution. Take a fuel hose and connect your two vents on the top of your carb. Make sure to make a cutout at the very top of the hose for air to get in. I think your just sloshing fuel out of your vent tubes when your decelerating.
good luck
