Actually my altered has it mounted to the chassis above the rearend. You want to mount it as close to the centerline of the car. In other words if you were to hang the car by the back, where would it hang straight.

I'm not sure if I would want all that force pulling on the rearend. Seems you would have a real problem if you pulled the chute and the hiem joints broke.

I did a seach and came up with this. I'm not endorsing them. I've never done business with them. Just some ideas.

On the differential I heard of hitting the chute and it picks the car up off the ground!!! You want it at the cars centerline!!!! DR.

well looks like we're monting it to the frame, and through the rear bumper, because according to tech inspection, it needs to be mounted straight back from the frame at a 90 degree mount, I was going to mount the bar down below the bumper like the Monte at the beginning of the thread, but I guess tech would consider that kind of mounting illegal, so I guess we are drilling a hole in the bumper, and running my bar straight back from the frame and through the bumper, and mount the strap and chute bag to that. thanx for the help guys...

you want to mount chute as close to center of car as possible, on your car right below the bumper and where your lic plate is, you should tie it into the frame also but i would be careful if its a stock frame so you dont pull it out when the chute opens so dont be afraid to add gussets to your chute mount on frame, also make sure your chute is angled up so it throws it into the wind or you are in for a ride, in the rule book it tells you how close the anchor point needs to be for the chute cable by your chute in the back of the car, good luck

Instead of drilling a hole through the bumper can he come up through the trunk floor and through the licence plate area and save the bumper? It would be the same length of bracket right?
