I don't drink kool aid, don't like liberals or anti-American politicians of ANY party, am an Independent Conservative, I know BarryO is a Socialist and is in bed with Big Labor who are in bed with Big Corps who are in bed with Big Washington DC corrupt politicians.
I am a Vietnam combat veteran, an American Patriot, I REALLY support our troops and their families through my actions not just words, and encourage all of the Silent Majority Americans to start letting our voices be heard.
I do NOT like the idea of working folks being FORCED to join a union or be terminated from their job. As a business owner I do NOT like the idea of unwelcome rabble rowzers from a 'union' to come into my business uninvited and disrupt my work flow to 'encourage' my employees to join a union. I OVERPAY my people and treat them better than most.
Agreed that the original intent of unions was an admirable endeaver, but BIG LABOR is now 1,000% out of control and corrupt as is Washington DC.

Hey look, I am w/ Double D on this one. I know that it is WRONG for us tax payers to pay for unemployed union workers to have a VACATION at 80% of thier last salary because they were laid off... what incentive do they have to get re-employed when they have that? In my oinion, it is not fair. Ford is classic for this... guess what- they are in big trouble right now & it is NOT because of the mafia. I have a friend who is collecting a great salary through unemployment as a union member... he loves it.

So, in the end, the union can be percieved as similar to Socialism in the fact that no one really strives to go above & beyond, invent, or promote more new buisness ideas. It is all controlled by the government & is contrary to creativity in the way it limits people by a bearuocratic union system... which is out of control.

I seriously do not want to offend anyone here... especially those in the union. I am attacking the system... which i think tends to be on the liberal side right now!! It seems the Liberals want to make a system for everything these days... we all know that OBAMA supports the union... he is a liberal & Republicans support independent buisnesses & growth for American people. Obama & company are CLEARLY in the wealth DESTRUCTION buisness. JMO!! Scooter

sorry but i just don't think unions are needed right now, maybe
when the economy is better but paying for unions drives wages up
and that makes it hard to keep up with the competition, even
the companies going to 3rd world factories for cheaper products.
good luck :?

I agree with u I was just explaining how unions came about...and the improvements they made to the working class of this country...I am very patriotic...probably more than some Democrats....but not all of us are rebel rousers either....the problem now is not labor, hell r they shipping jobs to the "Global Network"....there aren't any jobs here in this country...or at least here in Michigan....locally we had a world class paper industry...7 main mills in this are by 1998 all gone to Mexico....Why because Corporate greed said we need to improve the bottom line so we can compete....i.e. we need to get rid of the unions and their collective barganing agreement so we dont have to pay those benefits any more or succumb to EPA inspections and fines.....11 years later they are still cleaning up here, the EPA now calls these sites brownfield sites...PCB contamination....cause birth defects and kills fresh water fish....and oh yeah it is in Lake Michigan....Corporate America needs to do what is right for the American people...not what is good for the balance sheet.....I hope you do treat your worker like you do and more power to you....try selling that on Wall Street though....those guys cant seem to get enough of out hard earned money...not the unions. I would just like to know what union is funded publically by the taxpayers of this country....I thought the were funded by monthly dues or membership into the union.....If you say GM or Chrysler, well those are privately held entites...hence why we are bailing them out because if they do fall it would be a domino effect...because the large banks in this country have alot riding on them to succeed.
