i use to have a 302 sbc, aluminum rodded, solid roller cam and some raised exhaust dart pro1's. That thing would zing up there and still it never broke or had any problems.

Ya I going to scrap the 331 idea. I just remember how it use to wind up effortlessly. He had it in a very cool looking 68 Camaro and it use to hike up the drives tire and halled ass.
Kwkracing,anymore details on the 302?

The 302 foundation sounds like the way to go... being the original blue print is only about 1000RPM shy anyways... all I know is that that Nova Video you posted was very cool as he shifted into 2nd & popped up the front wheels again!! You gotta love the sound of a SBC @10000!! makes we want to loose the BBC sometimes....

I keep an eye on that stuff, I have a set to use for a spare engine later, and Curtis@RFD is almost finished working on a virgin set for my 460 that will flow in the neighborhood of 440CFM. Look for a set with rockers, valley tray and intake if possible, you do have to realize there is a little learning curve to set them up the first time.

I phoned about it but it has a stock GM block. Not sure about a stock block and that high of rpm?

When it comes to valve train dont go the cheap route, spend the $$$ for good parts. Also on a piston wrist pin do not be talked into lightweight, heavy does not flex and with the high RPM you need stregnth. I had a 377 that I shifted at 9500.

speaking of Indy cars. do you remember when they tried to run them at Texas Motor speedway a fews years ago and they had to cancel the race because the Indy car Drivers were Blacking out due to excessive "g's" going into the turns....

Ya Gotta respect that Danica Kirkpatrick..shes got the touch.
