Default Adequate fuel pressure

I have a couple of questions. First, how much of an effect does having adequate fuel pressure have on horsepower production. I am not talking about the difference between loosing all pressure and having full pressure, just 1.5 psi is my case.

My car runs pretty much right at 6 psi at all times, and I wonder if I could expect much of a gain by setting it to 7.5 psi.

Second. my pressure regulator looks identical to the one in the link below. Is adjusting the pressure as simple as turning the nut on the top?

Thank you
