Here's the update on the testing Saturday, combination is just as listed.
First run on motor-5.867,1.279 sixty,115.89 mph,launch @ 3000 shift @7000
second run on motor-5.845,1.283 sixty,116.15 mph,launch @ 3000 shift @ 7000
third run on motor-5.804,1.272 sixty,117.06 mph,launch @ 3800 shift @ 6800
fourth run on motor-5.793,1.263 sixty,116.98 mph,launch @ 4000 shift @ 6800
Turned on 2 stage speedtech plate for the next passes
first run on juice-5.481,1.219 sixty,123.64 mph, launch @ 3000,shift @ 6800 left on 100 jets in the first stage ,second kit on at 1.6 second out on 200 jets.
second run on juice-5.417,1.211 sixty,126.72 mph.launch @ 3000,shift @ 6800 left on 150 jets in the first stage,second kit on at 1.6 out on 200 jets.
third run on juice-5.383,1.204 sixty,127.14 mph.launch @ 3800,shift @ 6800 left on 150 jets in the first stage,second kit on at 1.0 out on 200 jets.
I don't have any high rpm data, but taking a quick look at the stripe on motor was around 6000,and the bottle was around 8000.I think a gear change is in the near future. What would a 4.70 or 4.86 do the run numbers?

A 4.56 would have put you at 7100, on your last pass, if everything went the same way.

I don't know due to to many factors, but based on 955HP which is what it took to run your last run, it would cross the 1/4 mile at 7300RPM.

This is the caculator that i used.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/accel-calc.php

There's lot's of info. here but none will tell you the estimated et.
hope this helps.

LOOKS LIKE mY PREDICTION WAS DEAD ON YOUR 4 RUN MOTOR PASS....
Here was my post..

it Will run what Todd said if you can lay a 60ft down in between 1.26 and 1.30 range.....

thats the answer yet to be seen in everyones final ET until they get to the track and see if that can lay it down off the line....( particulary in the 1/

you got to have your chassis working to 60 ft these times i listed above in a heavy door car ..its doesn't come automatic..too many people make it sound too routine to run this 60ft..and it may be a little more common in 2500lbs tube cars..i can assure you that you get around that 3,000 lb mark..the 1.26 60 ft becomes a little more challanging for a motor pass..cause you got to consider that some things are out of your control such as track conditions etc...

but you 60ft those times and you will run mid 5.70 range for sure..if your motor will pull thru the 330ft mark at around a 3.78- 3.80 et..you will be there.

Mph should be in the 117 to 120 mph range for this et range

The compression is a little low. The cam... I just pulled a 761 744 that was 283-289 out of my 548. The carb will work. The heads unported are on the edge. I do hope that is a good gear set in that glide. Why such a small stall? You are looing at 6.20's. You are going to be 114-117 mph.

I run 6.20's with less compression and junk 074 heads with a 540

Brian,I have to say that you were right there with the numbers you predicted.I'm glad your numbers were on instead of the 6.20 prediction that was gave on here.I would like to change the rear gear, but i don't want to loose alot of et.What's your opinion on that.

Good Christmas eve to ya Bad Luv..and congrats on the ET'S etc...

i have several questions for ya..in reference to the gear change...2 part question and statment.

You have to make a decision do you want this a spray car, motor car or some and a lot of both..unfortuntly as you know already your gonna give up some in one area to gain in another...with this said i will give you my take on both..

1- i think you might be a tad higher then 6,000 on the high end rpm on motor pass..i am thinking more like 6500..(guess)..you ran a good 5.79 et on motor not to have turned this motor at least 6500 thru traps..plus how do you know you are shifting at 6800..do you have an electric shifter ?...Plus with that 514 gear i do not think you would have dropped 800 rpm in high gear by the time you reached the traps..My opinion here..i think the car would have lugged at 6,000 rpm..

on the other hand it could have well hit 8,000 rpm on the juice no doubt.

are you spraying right out of the hole ?..progressive or manual button ?
also how do you have your converter set up ..its it loose for max Hp.or tighter for spray ?..

if i were you and i was gonna make this a spray car..i would go to a minimum of a 4.56 or possibly a 4.30 and when time to change slicks dropped to a 32 inch tall tire ( for the 4.30 gear)...check the converter and tighten her up if not tight enough already..( last thing you want is driving thru the converter)..Run the NOS from the Line ......

if you turned that 565ci 8,000 rpm on spray it stopped pulling hard about 3/4 track...

i will bet that thing will MPH and ET more then you bargained for if you did the above...i done seen this happen too many times

if ya wanna keep it a 50/50 hp/Nos car.....no higher then 4.56 ( going to 32 inch tire) no lower then 4.86/4.88 ( staying with 33 inch tire) ( this is still pushing it in my opinion) running 200 shot out of the hole..

what i would check right now is my converter...you know better then me...but i would be somewhat concerned if my converter was to soft..for the hit...

either way i think you have a bad little ride that will run....

i am really glad you ran those numbers

Merry Christmas.

Brian

You are probably right on the motor pass as the rpms could have been 6500 but from the quick look and trying to judge the stripe i don't think it was anymore than that. Now for the 8000 rpms on the juice it didn't happen because i had my high side chip at 8000.I was concerned it would get in to it when i up'ed the jet 50 more hp and turned the second on sooner,so i looked at the tach before the stripe several times before i got there so i could lift if needed. You are probably right on the cam running out of the rpm range also.I think it goes to 7400 and it's probably not that much in this size motor. The converter is on the tight side, and is a 10" on top of that.I can really say that it was not driving threw the converter,as the shift was on out even with the jet change.I do have an electric shift sol with an rpm switch.I do appreciate the input and Merry Christmas to you'all.
