Default Button or bearing?

My old gear drive on the cam in my 400 sbc had a Torrington bearing between the cam gear and block and a roller bearing button on the nose. I have gone back to a chain drive,it came with a brass thrust washer.and the roller button is a different size so I have to replace it.anyone using a Teflon button? The Torrington bearing was in engine when I bought it,any reason why I shouldn't keep using it?
