I went with JE because I thought the price was pretty good. Like I said they are "nitrous pistons" and I paid $1030 for the pistons & rings and that included shipping. I don't now what the Probes cost so I can't say anything their prices.
So I guess your all saying no funny gas for my 496 as I have the soso srp's. Dang it!
If you decide to upgrade call Titan Motorsports and ask for "Bottle" tell him I told you to call. They are a distributor for all kind of performance companies. Their web site is www.titanmotorsports.com
some 1 would not sell me srp for a blown 1471/572 chevy alky motor dart 360 heads all the good stuff would they?
I wouldn't say that some people will sell anything just to get the dollar, but it would be one big mistake to put them in a blown alcohol motor. I've got 7 of them setting on my shelf in the shop that came out of my 358, 1471 blown alcohol sm/blk, the 8th one melted right down to the top ring groove about a 1/2" wide blowing out 3 qts. of oil and spinning a rod bearing, it happened all in 1 pass and there was less than 10 passes on the motor.
Best to go the extra bucks and buy blower or nitrous pistons, the top ring groove is down 7/16" from the top of the pistons on them.
