Default 500+ Ci.Rons inj. tuneup?

I'm trying to fine tune my inj. tuneup and am wondering what others are running in the way of pills and nozzles. At the moment I'm at 40 nozzle and 88 pill with 1135 average egt. but I think there's better there. Just finding it. engine is currently 516 ci. TD bbc with terminator. To me the engine sounds raspy and slightly lazy. Intake doesnt get cold. I do know that 1 size change in nozzle equals 14 #s' in pill but just cant get it right

1135 EGT is ok IMO but every combo is different. My toilet never got the intake cold well nothing like my carbs do.

Which pump are you running ?

I'd take what James says to the bank he's seen and done enough of them.

0 1/2 pump recently upgraded by Rons. What timing do you run? I saw where somebody had a 622" and was using 36 nozzles?just curious. I agree 1135 is not bad. Its just like I said, the engine sounds raspy and slightly sluggish.I leaked it at 27-28%

I run a toilet bowl also, but on a s/blk. 377" Still need more imfo. what size bowl are you running, mine is a 4.1, you may have the larger one for a big blk..
my thinking is that the pump you have is not big enough. I have talked with James a few time's, and bought additional parts. they say their dash-1 pump will run stacks injection, this i donot buy, since at 4000.rpm's it only puts out 3.8GPM.
I personally run a DSR pump on mine which puts out around 6GPM and no highspeed bypass. I think i could run better on top end with 1 installed.
In the heat at Memphis i run .080 to .090 jet. the only problem is i leave the line at 190* and get back to the pits at 170* no EGT installed,No carb box on top, just a cowl induction hood. Lot's of things wrong on my car, but it's as crisp as carberator, barrel valve set at 23lbs leakdown. i can can also run round robin and never turn on the water pump.
I think 14lbs at the nozzles is not enough pressuse there, i would get a bigger pump, and install a hightspeed leanout, set it at 65lbs starting point and work down from there. That's where i set my stacks injection at.
The manifold cannot get cold because there's no alcohol in it, (only air) unlike running a carb where the alcolhol passes thru the manifold, that in respect is where the argument starts that carbs run better that bowls because thr fuel charge is colder.
Bottom line i would get a higher pressure to the nozzles so they can spray rather than dribble and i think you'll see a major increase in performance.

Zip, that makes sense about the intake inj./carb thingy. I'm not running toilet I'm a terminator. 2300 cfm, I think.... the pumps turned up better than the stock 01/2. What timing you running? What compression? I'm at 36 and 15-1

I'm running static 13.94 @38* advance, The little 377" doesn't have much torque, but puts out pretty good on HP. my heads are only Bodix track 1's.
My car is pretty heavy @3250lbs with driver and will only run 6.52 1/8 and 10.59 qtr. But when i first built this motor we put in my friends 1850lb dragater without 160lb driver and also a stacks 2 7/16" hilborn unit. On the 5th pass it ran at Memphis 5.16 1/8 and 8.24 qtr. at 158mph. I don't know what this translates to HP, but i think it's pretty good considering the engine size. That was with 4.56 gears and 16X33 goodyears and a 5500 stall converter shifting at 6800. In fact our dial at the 2005 Super Chevy show was 5.15 and we broke out by .002. but like i said no torque, but the response is crispy critter.
I've got 5 pumps from hilborn (0) to enderle 990, but i also have a stacks injection engine and a blown alcohol s/blk engine. I know i can always bleed off what i can't put thru the nozzles, but if i don't put enough to them they will never perform at the engines best ability
