You'll probably get alot of answers on this one.
There is:
1 Brad Penn (really good with alcohol)
2 Schaeffer (this is what I use)
3 Pennsoil Racing oil
4 Valvoline Racing oil
5 Joe Gibbs Racing oil
All of these are good oils so take your pick.
Just use a good filter!!!

I run half valvoline and rotella diesel oil with a cup of marvel mystery oil in all of my blown engines. The viscocity varies, but usually a straight weight 50 or 60. All my blown engines have the clearances on the loose side.

VR1 or Shaffer for me
You guys who run Brad Penn and Rotella, know they changed the oil in the last year and its nothing like it used to be with far less zinc and phosphate content now.

Engine oil
I know they had to change any oil that is for consumer use as in Walmart and auto parts stores.
But I talked to the Brad Penn Oil Company directly with in the last 6 months and they state the ZDDP and other antiwear properties we need are unchanged because it is racing oil only.
In any case I am glad I stocked up on Brad 20-50 back when it was $25 a case.
