What Will It Take To Be #1: AMP Series Brings Raging Point Battle into Central Arkansas For Early May Double-Header

(Alexander, AR/April 28, 2008) -- As the AMP Series heads into a double-header weekend on May 9th & 10th, the AMP Series competitors are facing a tight, early season point's battle. How tight? Only 22 points separate 1st from 7th, as the AMP Series prepares to invade Central Arkansas.

The latest AMP point's standings have Allen Tippen leading over 2007 AMP Series Champion, Jon Mitchell and rookie Jeff Wells (tied) by 11 points. Clay Fisher and Billy Moyer Jr. are well within striking distance at 12 points behind Tippen; while sixth-place, 2007 AMP Series Rookie of the Year, Kyle Beard and seventh-place Charlie Cole are only separated by one point and looking to surge towards the top of the standings with a strong performance.

Another AMP rookie, Rachel York (8th) and veteran Terry Henson (9th), are looking to better their positions in the current standings and hope to come out of the double-header with a upward points swing into the Top 5. Several members who are looking to move up the AMP ladder over the weekend with outstanding performances include drivers such as Gary Beard, Mike Bowers, Kenny Basco, Jon Kirby, Jamie Flannagin, Dewaine Hottinger, Andy Hockenhull, Gary Christian, Joseph Long, Larry Potter, Shane Diamant, Baron Herndon, Phillip Herndon, Lynnsee Provence and Tommy Surrett who all could be planning a coup of their own as they eye the top spots.

This is a double-header event that you can't miss! With a fantastic point's war raging and gas prices soaring through the roof, the AMP Series Double-Header is your only cure for Central Arkansas race fans wanting their local racing fix -- without draining your wallet.
