No offense, but about 20 yrs. ago i did exactly what you are talking about, i put a 540"blown alky 1471 Littlefield motor injection flowed by Ralph Gore on an engine stand. I bolted the stand down with 1/2" concerte bolts. Let it idle until the temp came up on the solid heads. Cracked it a couple time and it pulled the lugs out of the concerte, almost turned the engine stand over, learned my lesson real fast. The motor did later run 6.77 @ 217 at Bakersfield, not bad in 1987.

I wouldn't want to be standing anywhere near a Big Block at 7000 rpm with no load....
