$4500ish is what I think its worth maybe a little less in this market.
814hp is also what I came up with at the flywheel, very common to see a 496 make 800-825hp anymore.

Zip is right it takes around 675hp @ the flywheel to go 5.80's

I believe he was suggesting that your motor made MORE power than what you claimed..not less.

I could be wrong.

Anyway. In my opinion what it's worth and what you will get are two very different things. Figure about half what it cost you to build it. JMO

I know I would never pay much for a used motor unless I knew the people that had owned/built/ worked on it.
EXACTALLY!
I was PUMPING You UP,NOT Down!
I Guess its a 498" and Not a 496"er,which I have SEEN Many of Them run Off and Leave ALOT of Bigger Motors(540's).
I was Realy Thinking that My Motor was in the 725-775 Range? Its Only 12.8 comp, and Has a TOTALLY WRONG BumpStick in it(N02)Its REAL Soft in the 60' only 1.24-1.26.
I'll Change the Intake this Week and put the Pump on and then, probably a Stick Change?
GOOD LUCK with the SALE!
In Reality, since I'm NOT 100% on the Heads?(Merlin Alu.)?)5-5500.00 Maybe a Little More if,you can Find someone that Realy Wants it?
And AGAIN,Not Knocking! I'm Praising!!!

If You were in the Car,You could get a Better Understanding of What I'm saying?
The Car Just DONT Pull as Hard on the Lower End as it does on the Top.
I have Ran as Fast as 121.8 MPH.It just seems that the Combo should go 1.Teens in the 60' and in the 5.50-.60's?I KNOW tha Stick has ALOT to do with it!
