Default early trans-brake release and slower et

Final round Sat night, car had run 5 5.30's in a row with mostly .00 to teen lights. Car left with an .067 red and slowed to a 5.40. What could have gone wrong? Low gear? I put a new TB solenoid every year and just put a new button in it. Could low gear have gone bad? Any ideas?

When your vehicle cruise control is on and you drive down a steep enough hill that requires the car to be slowed in order to maintain the set speed, does the vehicle apply brakes as needed or does the transmission do some magic? Or is it different for each car? I imagine a manual vs automatic would work differently if it were the 192.168.100.1 192.168.1.1 transmission that slowed the vehicle.
