Pretty good old truck motor when you compare it to a 327. Later J.Smith 4621 racing

I worked on one in an older motorhome a few years back and the firing order was different than most GM engines  ..don't know why ..just so happened the owner had a manual on the engine that showed what it was..I guess they were trying something different..I don't know if they were all like that or not,,,my 2cents,,,,Paul

ALL TORQUE, GOOD FOR A BUS OR DUMP TRUCK..... I HAVE ALSO HEARD OF MANY GUYS STROKING THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE A TALL DECK HEIGHT ALLOWING BIG STROKE...

THEY MADE A 427 TALL DECK ALSO, JUST LIKE THE 366 BUT BIGGER BORE.. MOST OF ALL THE BIG BLOCK CHEVY PARTS WILL INTERCHANGE WITH THE 366, BUT THE RODS AND PISTONS ARE DIFFERENT AND THE TIMING CHAIN, THE PISTONS IN THESE MOTORS USE FOUR RINGS, SLOW REVVING ENGINE.. THE CRANK SHOULD BE STEEL AND WILL WORK IN A 396 OR 427 SHORT DECK BLOCK.. THE HEADS ON A 366 ARE VERY RESTRICTIVE, SMALL VALVE,, WHICH PRODUCES TORQUE... GOOD LUCK
