That show put a big dent in the Charger population... anyways, not everyday you meet someone like Buzz. Scooter
He may have done the stunts, but he didn't invent the "Daisy Dukes"!

THANK YOU Catherine.

Are you suggesting that the DUKE BOYS didn't do all those jumps themselves? Or that COOTER couldn't really straighten and paint every panel on the car in one day?
That is right Tod... Cooter didn't do squat... lazy too. Buzz told me all those cars had 400lbs. of lead in the trunk area when launched off the jumps.

BTW: Sprint cars... I agree!! 800HP, 1300lbs, 150MPH, SIDEWAYS 3/4 the time... they deserve brass balls awards in my opinion. Not to mention, when they roll, they roll like 86 times w/ parts flying everywhere & catch on FIRE at rest most of the time too. LOL!! Those guys got it made!!!! I love sprint cars... steer like a bus too... gotta give em credit.

Sorry if I mad anyone mad just by pointing out dirt track racers it's just what is more common around here. And like I stated before the comment about real men go straight for the finish line well that's just a joke that us drag racing fans around here say to hardcore dirt trackers. All in all this was just one of my opinions I wanted to see others views on. Thanks for commenting.

Keep in Mind all of us on here are 99.9 % drag racers and some of us with round track backgrounds....i did not have any issues with you making the straightline comment..its been a long standing joke between round trackers and drag racers..just like " My car is too fast to turn left"....etc....

personally i thought the TITLE to your thread was a little out of place more so than the thread itself...sounded like you were attacking the Dirt racer (the man) instead of the sport

I'm sorry about the title I tried to keep the title as less affending and could have probably come up with a different one to sound a little less affending on some. I placed "some dirt track racers" to lighten it but I guess it didn't help much. But was talking to a guy I mow his businesses lot for and he just got back from TX from getting recertified to race his World of Outlaw Sprint car he just built and talked about how rough it was 2 hrs in the cramped car and he has to stay in between two white lines in the turns and I now sort of realize how rough and hard it is to drive a dirt track car. Said they poured water down his back while sitting in the car. And with drag racing you make a pass then get out of the car and so on not really that much of an endurance race like I stated before sorry if I affended you by pointing out dirt trackers but the main thing was towards some of the locals around here taking the 80's muscle cars and racing them.

Burns i don't think you offended anyone, but there's room for all kinds of racing here in the US. My only problem is you talk about straight line racing like you have been doing it for yrs. If i recall you only got your lic. a couple weeks ago and you want to sound like you have hundreds of laps down the QTR or 1/8 mile which is impossible unless you were running a JR dragster for yrs. There's no ligitiment drag strip that would let you drive a full size car withouth a drivers lic. at the races. Now i know you go to some outlaw 1/8 mi or less tracks in the south which you may be able to slip in a few runs. But in reality you have no seat time, i would suggest if you DO have a daily driver, now that you have your lic. go to the race track and inter footbrake class and see how good you do. I think you will find out it's not easy to be competative, especially in the beginning. You'll also find out that your vehicle is not nearly as bad or fast as you think it is. Maybe you should hook up with RaceChick who was on here last year, who was supposed to be a roundie round racer, but i guess she's a fly niter, only intrestesting in talking about her issues, since she hasn't been on in months.
