Cooling fan---pusher or sucker?
Which cools the best, pulling air or blowing air through the radiator?
I have a Chevy Beretta with a 588 that has the fan blowing through the radiator.
The car never runs hotter than 190 (on gas) but takes forever to cool down
to 150. I only have time to run one class. In the past i always ran alcohol,
but can't take the fumes anymore. Thanks in advance,TT

For RAPID cooldown;
An electric H2o pump and a 110Volt cooling fan and/or a garden sprayer tank with H2o sprayed directly on the radiator with the electric H2o pump running.
Now to your question;
A 'puller' with a proper and tight shroud is more effective as you'll be drawing air through at least 90% of the radiator. 'Pushers' only cool the area directly in the path of the fan blade, nothing outside that circle.

I usually recommend a puller. Either works fine when the car is sitting and Yellowbrick is right about the shroud and air flow. I also think that the puller is better because when the car is moving all of the air flow can hit the front of the radiator and none is blocked.

I always used pullers on my drag cars, DD and Curtis hit the nail on the head about flow and restriction.
Are you running an electric water pump? If so check the flow cause if you are running the pump and fan during cool down its should get below 150° in at least 15-20 minutes
